Dutch support for Combat Support Ship’s Swagelok gas panels

Damen Naval and Swagelok Nederland have signed a contract for gas reducing & distribution panels for the new Dutch Combat Support Ship (CSS). The gas panels will be deployed for the controlling, monitoring and processing of nitrogen (e.g. to inflate helicopter tyres), helium (to inflate weather balloons) and acetylene and oxygen used for welding. The gas panels will be designed and manufactured in a close cooperation between Damen engineers and their colleagues with Swagelok Company in the U.S. and the Netherlands. Delivery is scheduled early 2022.

Swagelok Nederland (located in Waddinxveen) has 45 staff and is part of Swagelok Company with over 225 sales and service centres in operation worldwide. This includes the branch near Gouda, which is the distributor and service provider for all Swagelok products throughout the Netherlands, also covering special and customised products. Besides supplying components, Swagelok Nederland also offers product trainings and supports clients with the assembly, technical advice and performing inspections.

This isn’t Damen’s first use of Swagelok Nederland products. Similar systems have been delivered for the Zr.Ms. (HMS) Karel Doorman in 2013. In addition to Damen Naval Damen Shiprepair & Conversion too cooperates with Swagelok.
