Nevesbu Submarine Academy certificates for DSNS engineers

In the past months 12 DSNS engineers participated in the Submarine Academy; ‘submarine design for non-submarine designers’ – training and education course, organized by renowned naval and submarine engineering company Nevesbu. As from November 2016 till March 2017 a diversity of subjects were presented. Introduction in design concepts, hydrostatics of submarines, power generation and distribution, auxiliaries, pressure hull design and concept of operations were covered during the courses. DSNS’ manager combat systems and submarine expert, CDR (ret) Pim Rozendaal, was teacher for the subject of submarine combat systems and payload. DSNS’s already present knowledge on submarine engineering has improved and widened by participation in the Nevesbu Submarine Academy.

Nevesbu issued a certificate of participation for all students. On May 4th 2017, the certificates were handed to the DSNS engineers by Jean-Paul Claassen, Director Products & Proposals. Jean-Paul Claassen highlighted the importance of building up the knowledge on submarine engineering for the future. To celebrate the occasion, the participants were treated with a muck of ‘snuiverfruit’, a typical Dutch submarine delicacy.
