Palfinger Nederland to provide lifeboats and davit systems for the new Combat Support Ship

The cooperation between Palfinger Marine Nederland and Damen has been strengthened with a new contract for the Combat Support Ship (CSS) Den Helder, which Damen is building for the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). The contract includes engineering and delivery of lifeboats and davit systems.

The davits are of the totally enclosed type and are specially designed for cold weather conditions. The lifeboats are designed as a tanker version and can function in the most severe conditions. Delivery of the lifeboats and associated davits is planned from September 2022.

Palfinger Marine Nederland – including the former Ned-Deck Marine, a reliable supplier to Damen – is located in Harderwijk and has a total of 150 employees in the Netherlands.

Damen Naval and Palfinger Marine Nederland already share a long cooperation, including the construction of the four Holland-class patrol ships and the Joint Support Ship (JSS) Karel Doorman for the Royal Netherlands Navy, as well as ships built for export clients such as the SIGMA combatants for the Moroccan and Indonesian navies.
